Fresh Ideas on Transportation

GUTS buses, Late Night Shuttles, and Saferides are valuable university services that help students both break out of the Georgetown bubble and get around the Georgetown neighborhood safely. However, there are still gaps in service, especially on weekends, and these programs are not always reliable. We will both increase awareness of public transportation resources and work with these services to improve student accessibility.

  • Educate Students on Public Transportation: We will provide resources that educate students about how to use public transportation and university transportation resources. This will include information about WMATA buses, Metro, DC Circulator, Capital Bikeshare, and Zipcar.
  • Increase Accessibility to WMATA: We will continue efforts to work with WMATA to craft a discounted pass for students to support student interns and further engagement with the DC community.
  • Increase Holiday Shuttle Hours: We will work to extend holiday break shuttle hours to airports to make holiday travel more affordable for students.
