Fresh Ideas on Federal Relations

The GUSA Federal & DC Relations Committee advocates for the interests of Georgetown students on a local and national level through engaging alumni and lawmakers, as well as community members and administration. Since its conception in March 2016, the Committee has successfully held alumni networking and educational events for students, engaged with the DC community through philanthropy work, and directly advocated for student interests through contacting members of Congress.

  • Strengthen the Student Leadership Alliance: We will continue to grow the Student Leadership Alliance, which is a consortium of university student governments across the nation, thereby assembling a unified voice that advocates for students’ rights.
  • Improve External and Internal Communication: We will work to publish the efforts of this Committee to the student body, giving everyone an opportunity to get involved in the Committee’s advocacy work.
